If you're mind is in the future, you're most likely worrying. If it's in the past you might be feeling shame, guilt, of remorse. Either way you're not experiencing reality. Reality happens in the moment, not in memories or your imagination. When you're in the moment you have choices and power. It takes practice, however, to find our way into the present. Here are some of the things you can do to get there:
-Focus on your breathing
-Bring your awareness into your body and your current physical sensations
-Notice the sounds around you
-Notice any unique smells in your environment
-Be aware of your body's temperature and the fabric touching your skin
-Observe the quality of light
-Focus briefly on your emotions, without judgment
-Look for something beautiful in your immediate surroundings
These activities will automatically bring you into the moment. Often, when we find ourselves feeling anxiety, we're not in the present. If you can get in the habit of finding your way into the now, you're anxiety will begin to subside. This moment is manageable, if you experience it by itself, without the worry of the future or the regret of the past. It's important to plan for the future but there's no need to ruminate about things that aren't happening yet. If you put your attention in the present, you're much more likely to find creative solutions, inspiration, and, ultimately, joy.
The process of manifesting is the same regardless of the size of the job. The universe doesn't consider it harder to give you a house than a new pair of shoes. It's all just creation and the process will, in all likelihood, be a lot easier if you approach it in a light-hearted, relaxed manner. Whatever it is, give it the "weight" of a new pair of shoes, not a mansion.
So, these are the steps:
1) Get clear about what you want. What are the basic parameters? What are the components that need to be there... just the broad strokes. Let the universe fill in the details. For example, if you're creating a new job, do you want to be able to express your creativity? Do you want to work from home? Do you want a short commute? Is it imperative that you enjoy your co-workers? Write out a list of your must-haves.
2) Spend time thinking about your new creation. You may want to set time aside for meditation. If meditation is not your thing, spend time day-dreaming about what you want. Think about it throughout the day, for short periods of time. It's especially helpful to spend a couple minutes day-dreaming about this new reality when you find yourself disillusioned with your current reality. Shift your focus to how great things are going to be.
3) Ask your guides for help. If you don't feel a connection to guides, just ask God or the universe for help. You're not in this alone and you're more likely to manifest what you want, with more efficiency, if you ask for help. Whatever your higher power is, use it! Ask for direction, for very clear signs, and for direct intervention to help bring what you want into reality. Then look for responses. Listen to your intuition. Pay attention to the ideas that keep coming into your awareness and be willing to act on them.
4) Bring emotion into the process. Let your imagination wander into the future and experience the feeling of what this new reality is like? Feel the emotions... the excitement and gratitude. Feel the joy about having this new thing in your life. Also, let yourself bask in the pride of having accomplished this and feel the rush of knowing that you have the power to create what you want.
I used to think a life purpose was a complicated agenda, unique to each individual. While that may be true, in part, there may be an agenda that we all share. The longer I'm on this planet, the more I consider the possibility that we are each here, above all else, to find happiness and be kind to each other. This may be our highest calling. It may not be a complicated mission at all. It might simply be a matter of finding joy and peace, for yourself, and then sharing those emotions with others. It sounds trite but this is no small task, since we are swimming in a sea of lower vibrations.
The consciousness of the planet makes it difficult for individuals to rise into higher frequencies, despite the fact that it's our birthright. The system we live in is set up to keep us locked in a particular mindset. One of the most profound and effective ways to change this system, for the better, is to react differently... to adopt a lighter, softer response to the circumstances and people we encounter. What would happen if you became more open and loving to the world around you? What would happen if you responded more often with kindness, humor, or love, as opposed to anger? What if anchoring these higher vibrations became your life purpose?
